PowerPoint Presentations in High Definition

PowerPoint is ready for high definition format.  All you need to do is modify the page setup. There are only two steps required in all versions.  Select Page Setup and choose or set a 16:9 layout for a new widescreen layout.

Remember, for the best results, you need templates built in high definition format. If you change the page setup with a standard (4:3) template, PowerPoint will stretch the image and put black bands at the top and bottom.  It may look widescreen, but the image will be degraded.

Page Setup in PowerPoint versions prior to 2007 is found under the File menu.

Look in the Design Tab and click on Page Setup in PowerPoint 2007.

In all versions, the same Page Setup palette will appear.  Simply select a 16:9 setting or choose Custom and change the settings to 16 by 9 if the setting is not available.
