Many of the familiar commands in PowerPoint have changed in version 2007.  To apply templates to your presentation, you’ll use a new procedure.

Previous versions of PowerPoint had only minor terminology changes in the application of a new template.  “Format/Apply Design Template” became “Format/Slide Design”. However, PowerPoint 2007 now refers to “Design Theme”.  The location has changed as well. See the steps below.

Applying a new template to your presentation

Select the Design tab on the ribbon at the top of your screen.  Themes will be displayed in the center of this tab.

Click the dropdown arrow to the left of Effects. 

This will open the themes palette where you can select Browse for Themes at the bottom. 

Now navigate as usual to the template location on your hard drive or CD.
